Results from the Athletics Waikato Bay of Plenty Team at NZ Track & Field Champs
Starting with a World Record performance set in the women’s 100m T36 13.41 (0.8) by Danielle Aitchison carving 0.20 from the previous world record time set by Yiteng Shi at the Tokyo Paralympics to our U18 Womens 4 x 400m team of Zarah Rattray, Maia Poutawera, Boh Ritchie and Holly Faucett setting a new WBOP record 3:51.08 surpassing the 2013 U18 record of 3:52.58 and the 2014 U20 record of 3:51.43. The other stand out performance was from Madeliene Waddell breaking her mother’s (Sonia Scown) U20 400m hurdles record of 60.48 set on 4 March 1990. Madeliene’s time was 60.40.
