IPs U16/U18 2022 - week 4
Locally we had a weekend off with no open meets in Tauranga and Hamilton. I don’t hear our amazing officials complaining as they have been busy, and this is the only rest for a while.
Having a weekend off did not stop everyone. Sprinter Jaxon Woolley made history at Newtown Park at the Capital Classic in Wellington, by setting national U17, U18, U19, U20 and senior records in the men’s 100m T38.
The 16-year-old from Athletics Tauranga achieved an impressive mark of 12.63 (+1.7m/s) in the C race of the 100m. He followed the 100m up with a 200m within a short break, and again looked impressive.
Well done, Jaxson. Incredible, amazing, impressive ……. National Record …. what is next!
